SecureMail-Gateway (SMGW) of the Free State of Saxony

You can send us information requiring special protection in encrypted form via the Free State of Saxony’s SecureMail Gateway.

The SMGW Webmail account allows you to communicate confidentially with any registered user. No installation is required to use this service. All you need is a standard web browser and a personal email account.

Electronic processing

Applications or documents that you wish to submit to us generally require a signature. So that you can also do this for electronic communication, you must sign the applications or documents with a qualified electronic signature. For this you need:

  • a signature software
  • a signature card issued by a trust center
  • a signature card reader (at least security class 2)

The Free State of Saxony offers all applicants the "Governikus Signer" signature software for free use:
