This bike tour starts at the Cross-Country Ski Lodge in Johanngeorgenstadt and takes you through the Rolava Valley, among other places.
The trail leads from the cross-country ski lodge through Dreckpfütze and Mittelflügel to the Oberwildenthal border crossing and on to Jelení (Hirschenstand). Following the signposted road (No. 2000), the trail runs through the Rolava (Rolau) Valley to Nové Hamry (Neuhammer). From Nové Hamry, the railway line also accompanies you to Nejdek (Neudeck). You leave
Nejdek, known for its many sights, via road No. 2009 toward Nová Role (Neurohlau). Shortly before Nová Role, you have the option to take a shortcut (signposts along the way) or reach Nová Role via Božičany (Poschetzau). Nová Role is a town with a long history, including a 13th-century church. Passing by it, we
leave Nová Role via a classic bike path (No. 2009). With a view back toward the southern side of the Ore Mountains, you’ll ride to Stará Role (Aolt-Rohlau). Stará Role lies just outside Karlovy Vary and is worth a stop. Turn
left off the main road and cycle past the Stará Role train station on bike path (No. 2009) for about 2 km to Karlovy Vary.
