This loop hike begins and ends at Platz des Bergmanns and takes you to the particularly interesting nature reserve "Kleiner Kranichsee," located at an elevation of 930 meters.

Character

  • Easy" circular hiking trail

You walk past the Pferdegöpel in the direction of the ski jumps. Follow the Henneberger Flügel until you reach the T-junction at Eisenstraße. Once there, turn left towards Henneberg. After approx. 150 m you will reach the "Hochmoor" information board. From here, turn right onto the Hochmoor nature reserve circular route. Follow the signposted route description and leave the circular route at the end and turn right onto the ridge path in the direction of Oberjugel. Follow the signposts around Oberjugel on the left. Leave the Kammweg and turn left towards Lehmergrund, cross the stream and follow the mining nature trail to the Pferdegöpel (steep ascent), the starting point of the hike.
