The town of Johanngeorgenstadt is recruiting for a position from 01.10.2026 at the earliest and 01.01.2027 at the latest.

Treasurer (m/f/d)

The position to be filled is a permanent part-time or full-time position (35-39 hours/week) in EG 10 according to the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD).

The profile:

The requirements for this position are:

* A degree in economics or finance
, or eligibility for career track 2 in the field of general administration
, or a comparable qualification (e.g., administrative specialist, business administrator, accountant, tax specialist, banking specialist)
* At least one year of professional experience in public accounting and budgeting or in corresponding positions within a company organized under private law

Special knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • sound knowledge of double-entry financial management as well as budgetary, contract, administrative, municipal and statutory law
  • Above-average commitment, flexibility, commitment and resilience
  • Loyalty and absolute discretion
  • Conscientious, independent way of working with a high level of responsibility, assertiveness, decisiveness and very good communication skills
  • Comprehensive IT skills, routine use of standard office applications, practical experience in H2R would be desirable
  • Strong understanding of business contexts, planning, analytical and conceptual way of thinking and working, results-oriented working style
  • Participation in committee meetings and appointments outside normal working hours as well as in further education/training measures is a prerequisite
  • Class B driver's license

The area of responsibility includes

* Management of the Finance Department and its divisions (Cashier’s Office, Accounting, Taxes & Enforcement) with 3
staff
members* Coordination and oversight of all processes within the department, as well as goal-oriented leadership and
organization of financial
administration* Preparation of the budgetary regulations and the budget, including the supplemental budget, as well as the preparation of medium- and long-term financial and investment planning in cooperation with the
departments*
Preparation of the annual financial statements, including the budget and balance
sheet* Planning and monitoring the implementation of municipal budgeting and accounting,
* Reporting on budget execution and all financial matters to
the city’s decision-making bodies, legal supervisory authorities, and local and regional auditing
bodies* Handling of fundamental issues in budgetary and financial law as well as matters of debt management and credit operations, in particular the execution of loans and borrowing, repayment, and
interest payments* Monitoring of cash
transactions* Tasks in the field of tax law; Property tax
rates* Participation in the drafting of bylaws, service instructions, and other administrative organizational measures*
Coordination and support of digitization processes in the finance
sector* Review and management of matters relevant to sales tax law

A willingness to work outside regular working hours is required for the diverse tasks of this position.
